Known for its orchards, scenic vistas, Bactrian camels and monasteries. Nubra Valley is the northernmost part of Jammu and Kashmir. Situated about 150 km from Leh, it is known as the Orchard of Ladakh and was originally called Ldumra which meant the valley of flowers. 

Thiksay Monastery is located 19 km from Leh. It is situated on a hill top overlooking the Indus Valley. Spon Palden Sherab with his Master Jangsem Sherab Zang, one of the six disciples of Lord Tsongkhapa, the founder of Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism, founded Thiksay monastery in 1433 AD.  

Magnet Hill is a gravity hill located, near Leh. The layout of the area and surrounding slopes create the optical illusion of a hill. The hill road is actually a downhill road. Objects and cars on the hill road may appear to roll uphill in defiance of gravity when they are, in fact, rolling downhill.

Hemis Monastery is a Himalayan Buddhist monastery of the Drukpa Lineage, in Hemis, on the bank of Indus River, Ladakh. Situated at 45 km from Leh, it was re-established in 1672 by the Ladakhi king Sengge Namgyal. 

The Sumoor Nubra or the Sand Dunes Leisure Park offers pristine white deserts at a high altitude. Sumoor Nubra contains one of the very few artificially constructed Sand Dune Leisure Parks in the world. Unlike other deserts, it offers a unique opportunity to take long cool walks among the mounds of sand.
 

Diskit Monastery also known as Deskit Gompa is the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in Nubra Valley. It is 115 km north of Leh, situated on a hill above the flood plains of the Shyok River.
